RealBeast :
Sure, the question is allowed. Welcome to the TH forums.
It sounds like the two are using the same IP address (since it always totally disrupts the desktop as soon as it connects, correct?) I would check to insure that they are not and depending on your router you could use reserved dynamic or static addresses if necessary, although it would not be the best for the phone use since you take it to other networks.
If you check the IP addresses of each and they are not the same, please post more information on your router, channel used, and computer wireless adapter model.
Hey, RealBeast,
Apologies. I think I your previous answer was not really the correct one: I only thought so. I'm very sorry. I tried making the phone and ipad use static IP addresses, but the results were still the same; although at first it seemed to work, but now the same thing's happening still.
Here's a screenshot of the devices connected. I turned off my ipad cos my games will get DC'd.

Sorry I've no idea how to post a pic here.
As for my channel, the modem uses 192.168.1.1, while my router uses 192.168.0.1.

The pic above is the settings for my modem, which originally was the wireless router. I added a new router, which supposedly could conrol the bandwith, but had the same results.
The routers model is a Tenda.
The static IP ad i used for my phone was 192.168.0.151 and initially it worked, but the results were the same the following day. I also used static on my ipad using addresses .0.160-200 but still the same.
I hope you can enlighten me. Thank you so much!
