I have Ubuntu 16.04 installed on a hard drive on my computer, that is dual booted with windows 10 which is on an ssd. I currently cannot load ubuntu, and leaves me with a blank magenta screen. Windows works fine. I want to delete it so that i can rededicate the partition to windows. For some reason, i cant see the partition on disk management, but shows 304.090 GB of Unallocated storage. I put ubuntu on about 300 gb, so i am almost assuming its on there. Its weird. I cant add any more storage to my main partition on the hard drive, and i cant allocate the unallocated partition because i always get an error message saying that there is no space on the disk.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

rufus is the go to USB drive maker. http://rufus.akeo.ie/
it will extract the .ISO file that you download from ubuntu and make the drive bootable.
once that is done the system can boot to the USB linux for repair or installation

windows cannot read linux formatted drives without special software hence the unallocated space I use Ext2Fsd to access my linux partitions in windows.
have you tried to repair the ubuntu installation with a USB drive? live boot the usb and see if you can repair the boot process.

I don't have the USB stick with linux on it. A friend of mine helped put it on my computer, and he is now in Arizona. What software is there that i can trust? I know that its Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
