Hi everyone, so my PSU has been making random buzzing noises, like the ones in the following videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9vKGhPZ_pU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSwhrZBy8c0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6N2y0g8C40

My PSU is: CoolerMaster V650

It makes the buzzing noise as seen in the videos very randomly, it happens even when my PC / PSU switch is turned off, just need the power cable plugged in, it goes away by itself randomly too.

It happens very randomly most of the time, whether it's under load or not (gaming).

I've tried 2 power cables and can it randomly happens on both.

I've heard stories that people get the same issue even after RMA'ing it for a new unit, should I be worried?

Thanks!

It's inductor noise also called coil whine. It's annoying but it does not mean anything is necessarily wrong with the PSU, it just means whoever the OEM is for that psu did not insulate the inductors properly too keep them from vibrating and producing noise when they hit a resonant frequency.

You might be able to RMA it if it bothers you, however no guarantee your replacement wont do the same thing.

So I should just leave it like that right? It won't explode or something right :D. Doesn't really bother me when I have headphones on can't really hear it
