Upgrading PC... should I format my drives?

So, in a few months I’m doing an overhaul of my current rig. I’m keeping my SSD and GPU, but that’s about it. The Motherboard, Processor, Ram, and everything else will be different! I’ve been to a few places that say I should format my SSD, so my current drivers don’t mess anything up. I’m kind of new to PCs, but I don’t want to have to reload McAfee, Windows, Steam, or download all of my games and so on. So, is there any way around deleting all of my files? My PC now only has a 500GB SSD, and I have no backups. Can I just delete my old motherboard drivers? If so, can anyone walk me through the steps? I appreciate the help!
If you need any more info about my rig I’ll be happy to share.

unfortunatly i tried this earlier this year and it didnt work i got stuck in a boo loop and then had to reformat my boot drive i recommend you keep what you want on another drive (i have everything i need on my 2TB HDD) and then reformat.

So, you're saying I should get a large HDD, transfer all of my files onto it, reformat my SSD, and then transfer games onto the SSD? Just making sure because I've never done anything like that before.
