I have a problem with my computer. Recently upgraded the components and now the computer sometimes just shuts down sometimes while gaming. It doesn't seem like it's overheating, because according to HWMonitor my temps when it shuts down is: GPU: 60-70 degrees, CPU: 50-60 degrees and motherboard: 36 degrees (all celcius). Anyone have an idea as to what causes it?
My computer specs:
CPU: i5-7600K
GPU: Asus Strix 1080TI OC
Motherboard: Asus ROG Z270F

Was afraid you would say that. It came with the system when I bought, just figured that it had enough power in to work, even if wasn't the best quality PSU.
Is 850W required, because Cooler Master's PSU calculator says it only uses little under 500W under load?

Depends if you OC your CPU and GPU.
If you leave everything on stock you should get away with a 550w with a high end PSU.
But then again I would not do it.

In a way the PSU is like the engine in a car... You dont want to drive your car with the RPM needle close to the red line all the time would you?

With your setup without knowing how many case fans, hard drives etc etc I would say you should go for a 650 watts PSU as a minimum.

I personally would go for a 750 - 850 PSU that is high end. That way I would not have to think about hard drives, fans, overclock, etc etc.

Was not planning on getting lower than 750W, just wanted to make sure that it would be enough. You sure that it is the problem? Don't really want to buy an expensive PSU if it doesn't help.

Well I dont have your system here with me so there is no way for me to be 100% sure, but I am 90% sure it is the PSU with the problems you are describing.

What you can do is to borrow a PSU from a friend or something that is a good one. And test to see if the same happens.

You be supriced how often it is the PSU that is the faulty part in a computer.
Some people tend to buy high end parts when it comes to CPU, GPU, RAM, MOBO but for some odd reason they cheap out to the max when it comes to the PSU... when in fact the PSU is the 1 part you should never ever cheap out on.

Soooo many times a cheap PSU has killed high end systems. The lucky ones just gets a reboot or the system turns off.

Yeah, I would not have bought this PSU if it didn't come with the system. Which 750W PSU would you recommend?

Received my EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 today and got it installed in my system. I have played for some hours now without any issues, so it seems to have solved the problem. Thanks again :)
