I dropped my graphics card when I was removing the heatsink (doh).

One of the thermal pads fell off and I replaced it in the correct spot I think :

Is it ok to use that thermal pad again (very slightly torn at the end). Also does it matter if the memory modules are completely covered or if the thermal pads are exactly in the same position as before?

Solution
It's not that important, as long as there is still some thermal transfer then it's fine.
GDDR is usually fine even with out any kind of heatsink as long as you aren't going overboard with the overclocks.

The more important part is getting complete coverage on the gpu die with the thermal paste.

i managed to apply the paste and left the pad in the same position. I also managed to break a pin off the GPU core (doh) but it still works although none of the problems from before are fixed i.e. it still artifacts after a long gaming session, something related to heat.

I'm surprised that it isnt obviously affected by the damage although we will see as time goes on!
