Recently I put together my first personal build. I have built systems in the past, but I never installed drivers or an operating system on them. The OS installation went well, the gpu drivers were a bit harder but eventually I got up to date on everything. I installed a couple programs and decided to play overwatch with a friend. My play experience was very good at 1080p ultra until I got something that didn't feel like dropped frames, more like my system was retrying the last few commands very slowly. I changed the settings to medium but the problem persisted. I then promptly opened my bios to see, of course! My ram-bought from ebay mind you-was two different memory sizes; 8gb and 4gb. Is there a reason for my terrible experience? Perhaps a ram bottleneck? I have only read about differences in ram speed that would bottleneck a system. Thank you for your help.
EDIT: i've been messing around with MSI Afterburner and it seems my VID usage is very spotty. to the point of my not being able to watch videos on youtube at 1080p. is there a fix for this? As I think this is also what is contributing to my slow application running.
My system is :
I7-7700
B250i pro
8gb and 4gb corsair vengeance 2133
Msi gtx 1060 3gb armor oc
Running windows 10
