Can anyone explain or point me to recent Netgear description(s) of why my USB 3.0 drives formated with NTFS will work in the USB 2.0 port but not the USB 3.0 port of my R6400? Says "No Disk" when it's plugged in and getting HOT. Is the USB 3.0 standard a moving target that Netgear can't deal with? I have read the "compatible" list of devices but I use more obscure brands like Sandisk and Kingston because they work well with my Windows platforms. Even tried one of Samsung's space saver drives, works great as USB 2.0. Does anyone know if Netgear is working on or trying to fix the problem(s)? TIA for any information provided.

Solution
It's an old story around USB3.0 and 2.4GHz networks. Live with it. And if this will bring you some relief - NetGear routers are not the only ones affected.
Here is an Intel white paper, you can search for more.
