Cannot boot from SSD

So I recently got an SSD and I'm having problems getting Windows to work on it. I have cloned my C partition (with Windows) to the SSD from my HDD.
But when I try to boot from the SSD I get the "Reboot and select proper Boot Device" error.

So how should I fix this?

You apparently failed to clone the whole thing.

Assuming the system still works with teh original drive, redo the clone operation.

Like this:

Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the...

Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the original boot partitions, here:

Ok, after following those steps I kind of got it working, since I'm now able to boot from the ssd.

But after booted it goes to a black screen for a few minutes, before opening the screen with the date and time. When I click there it goes to the same black screen again, and after that's over I am able to login. Then comes another black screen and eventually the desktop shows, but clicking on any icon causes another few minute black screen, which will end in an error:

"The Instruction at 0x00007FFE5ED0CCF6 referenced memory at 0x0000000000000030 The memory could not be written"

After clicking OK in the error I'm left with a grey desktop with no icons.

So what now?
