Which one is better for gaming/multitasking?

Solution
From the look of the performance numbers on Userbench, the i5-7300HQ will likely be nearly as good as the i7-7700HQ in most games...

Both single-threaded and quad-core performance between the two processors should be rather close, and since the vast majority of today's games only make heavy use of four or fewer threads, the hyperthreading of the i7 won't likely provide that much benefit in most games for some time.

There's a much more significant difference between the 1050 Ti and 1050 mobile parts though...

You can compare...
I'd take the second one for the stronger cpu. If your cpu is limiting gaming performance there is little you can do but if your gpu is limiting gaming performance you can turn down settings to improve performance.

The cpu will also help with multitasking.

for gaming, the first one. For multitasking, the second one.

The first one has a better GPU hands down. The performance of the 1050ti is about 10-20% better than the 1050, depending on the game. That translates to roughly 10FPS in some games and more in others. The 7300u has a turbo speed of 3.5 so can drive the 1050ti plenty well, with no bottleneck.

The second one does have a better CPU, and will be better at multitasking, but won't get the same FPS. The difference won't be night and day, but at the same time, 10-20FPS can mean the difference between a nice 60fps smooth gaming experience or one where your only getting 45fps and it's a little stuttery. Having a faster single core does effect FPS, but not the same way a better GPU does.

You can compare performance numbers in a lot of games for the mobile 1050 and 1050 Ti on Notebookcheck as well (scroll down a ways to the game section)...

Given a choice, if all other aspects of the two systems were identical and the price was similar, I would go with the one with the i5-7300HQ and 1050 Ti. It appears that one also includes a small SSD in addition to its hard drive as well. It does have a bit smaller screen at 15.6 vs. 17.3 inches, but that also appears to make it over 20% lighter, going by the specs on those pages, and it features the same resolution. Considering it also costs less, it would likely be the choice I would go with between those two.

Question from UK ENTERTAINER : "What are the fps of these laptops?"

here's some speculation imo of their respective performance
Msi gl62m 7rex
e-sport title: max settings -> 80-100ish fps
AAA title : med-high -> 40-70ish fps
PUBG (since this is unoptimized, i put it on different class): very low-med -> 40-60ish fps

Msi gv72 7rd
e-sport title: max settings -> 60-900ish fps
AAA title : med-high -> 50-70ish fps
PUBG (since this is unoptimized, i put it on different class): low-med -> 40-60ish fps

all of this are my own speculation based on the specs
for more detailed info, u can just search on youtubes for benchmarks and that sort of thing, there's a lot of reviewer out there that covers gaming laptop's performance too, although if u're into gaming, might as well build a gaming PC (and buy a normal laptop in case u still needs it for portability, like doing assignments with friends etc)
