I have old Fujitsu computer ( SCENIC E620 (i915G) ) and I want to use it as server purpose, I was trying to add more ram (4GB) and BIOS is showing that there is 3 GB and it supposed to be 5GB, because 1 GB of memory was already in it.
When I removed the 1 GB memory one, its showing 3.22 GB and it should be 4 GB.
When there was only 1GB memory, it shows the correct value (1GB of memory)

System:
Operating system Windows XP 32-bit SP3 ( I will be installing there 64-bit )
Processor Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.00GhZ ( 64 bit CPU, by intel site )
HDD 80 GB Sata 2
Phoenix BIOS ( BIOS cannot boot from USB but I am using plop boot for it. )

I am using OnBoard graphic, I tried also PCI graphic card, and it didnt change anything.

That leads me to my other answer. Mixing up different RAM sticks can cause compatibility issues. Always only use RAM from a matched RAM kit to ensure it will work together.
Also as it is an old brand name computer it is possible using a proprietary motherboard and thus requires very specific compatible RAM (not sure if this is the case though)

The 2x2GB is a kit, and I set them to a coloured ram slot, the other one is in other color.
And as I said, if there will be only the 2x2GB installed, it will show in BIOS 3.23GB.

And your ram specs comply with this.

SCENIC 620 specs

Yeah of course. il get 64-bit as fast as possible, I will respond to this topic in a few hours.

Maybe, maybe not. These are the official specs.

Now, install a 64bit OS first to see if that solves your problem before we put more time into this.

Yes that is what the specs tells you. It also seems the RAM you bought are not fully compatible as you should see 4 GB on a 64 bit Wiondows and not 3.25 GB. Not sure if this is because the iGPU reserves the rest though.

I dont think so, when there is the 2x2 GB and 1x1 GB it will show 3 GB available, if there will be only 1x1 GB it will show the full 1GB
