New TP Link TD-W8960N set-up yesterday. Port 80 is open to the internet and points at the admin login screen. Obviously I have changed the password but I want to close this port. I assume I need to disable remote access?

I found Management > Access Control > Remote Access but it looks disabled already.

check router firmware is up to date, check it is actually the ppp0 port you are using as opposed to another one in the drop down box.
Check theres nothing configured under port forwarding. You could potentially bodge it for now by port forwarding 80 to a none existent address.

How are you testing? Mobile phone?

Looks like it shipped with latest firmware.
ppp0 is the only interface listed in that drop down but I wonder if that was right.

As for port forwarding, the router won't let you forward port 80, it reserves if for the admin web interface :/

Ethernet on WAN, and sorry, I thought I update my last post to say testing via VPN at home and from office, which is totally different network.

And just tested on phone with wifi off too.

hmmm if you are definitely connecting the ethernet to the wan port and not a lan port i'm really not sure what is happening..

You mention vpn, if the vpn is from the work pc to your home network then that would explain why it can still access the admin page?
