Buzzing noise from USB headset while gaming

Hey

So recently I've overclocked my CPU, a 4790K to 4.6 ghz at 1.262v which is safe.
Since then I've been hearing buzzing noises/static noises from my headset ONLY while gaming. I dont hear anything while watching youtube or twitch. The noise will sometimes appear for a few seconds, then go away, sometimes it appears and stays until I either restart my computer, replug my headset, or just do a simple change in sound settings from stereo to 7.1 surround and back. Doing this messes up my in game audio though, forcing me to restart the game.

I have tried a couple of solutions, like switching from 16 bit 48000hz to 24 bit 48000hz which didnt work. I have also tried some ridiculous solution like turning vsync on, which didnt help much either.

My USB headset is plugged in to the back of the PC, sounds appear when cpu is not during max load aswell, for example 1.08v.

I wasnt sure where to post this so i hope this place will be okay. Thanks!

a lot of em inside your pc may cause hum. using usb instead of 3.5mm can cause hum if the usb socket is fault or cannot step down from 3 to 2 (different amp settings - should auto detect plug and play) - if your headset is usb2 and pc socket is usb 3

the overclock may cause more em leak with onboard sound, better to use a separate sound card or external controler.

headset maybe overly sensitive (manufacturing fault) but doubtful if it works for tube.

so if youre getting it during gaming (when the cpu + gpu are drawing more power), then the em from this maybe to blame.

Hey, thanks for your answer. The USB headset uses 2.0 usb therefore i swapped it from the usb 3.0 port it was connected to, to a 2.0. I will do some gaming and return to you if it worked or not.
