I have a LINKSYS WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO GIGABIT WI-FI ROUTER and a netgear prosafe 10/100 switch. Would I likely see a change in internet speed if I upgrade to a gigaswitch? I'm trying to determine if I need a gigaswitch or if a 10/100 will do.
Unless you're getting the 10/100 switch for free, there is no reason not to get a 10/100/1000.
There is almost certainly little if any price difference.
Do you move any data between systems connected to this switch?
Unknown. If you have 10Mbit internet, no. If you have 150Mbit, then yes. But, the real question with a switch, is do you share data among the devices connected to the switch? Is yes, then a gigabit switch is better.
1. What is the speed that you're paying for from your ISP?
2. How many hardwired devices do you have connected to your network, i.e what's the configuration you currently have?
