Hi. Quick question. How much does overclocking affect the ryzen 5 1600 lifespan? I have asus B350 and ryzen 5 1600 & I've reached stablity with 3.9 GHz at 1.3 volts. I'm planning on having this system for at least 5 years.
And Wich do you think performs better in gaming, 1600 overclocked or i5 7500?

Solution
AMD have said that going over 1.35v is going to shorten the cpus lifespan so 1.3v will be just fine as long as the temps are ok.
For gaming, the 1600 is faaaaaaaar better than the i5 even at stock clocks.

AMD actually said 1.45v was just fine with sufficient cooling. 1.4v is plenty safe, even with a decent air cooler.

As for which performs better in games. It'd really depend on the game. On games that are lightly threaded, the 7500 will very likely perform better, because the Intel cores have a much higher IPC. On games that are more heavily threaded, the 1600 should outperform the i5 in those situations quite easily.
