My needs are gaming only. Im looking for 20-25% increase performance. Will an intel 6600K with mobo MSI z170a gaming pro help achive that?

Keeping in mind direct x12 and vulcan engines and new games greatly favor more cpu cores. And 8350 has 8 !!

My setup--
8350 black edition
Rx480 refrence 8gb
Corsair psu 850
8 gb Kingston

Assuming you are only talking about gaming a new CPU will not get you 20-25% performance increase. It will definitely eliminate a bottleneck. Your 8350 is a bottleneck which is causing a drop in FPS and in particular stuttering and such when the CPU gets loaded. A 6600k will solve that for you. Multiple cores really doesn't matter much to gaming, it is still almost only about single core performance. Some day it will matter more, but even then you would have a faster CPU than you do now and with 4 cores.

There is a very large improvement going to a 6600K from the 8350. According to benchmarks, one must not put a large emphasis on more cores. For example a quad core 7700K beats many CPUs with more cores, even from the intel side of the fence due to its strong single core performance across enough cores that satisfies most games, no matter if dx12 or 11.

A 6600K is a very significant improvement and will definitely reduce stutter in many games. Depending on what game you play you may or may not achieve your 25% target improvement. In something like PUBG it would make a big difference.

I would also look at the 8th gen intel CPUs such as the new i3 8350K which seems to be a better performer, and much newer than the 6600k: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fujMhJUZbUQ

I would get a i3 8350K if I were you and sell the 8350 Black edition

Interesting. didn't know about i3 8350k. It shows slightly better performance than 6600k. BUT I have following issues.

1. i3 8350k will need a brand new z370 mobo to run it.
2. i3 8350k is still not available in my country. its gona take a month.
3. Cost wise the i3 8350 + z370 combo will be 20-25% more expensive than 6600k + z170 combo.

The performance Id get would be approx same but the price difference will be quiet great for i3 8350k. let alone the wait.
Unless you strongly believe I should go for i3 8350k and the performance improvement will be worth a while, my eyes are on 6600k or 7600k,
