current gpu:gt 430
os:windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
psu:500 watt

Hey guys, i have been wanting to change my gpu for a long time, is the gtx 1050 ti a good choice? i am on a strict budget.

It should as long as you see a PCI Ex16 slot. 1060 6gb will be better for 1080p gaming with very high-ultra setting. However, 1050ti is doing fine if you can sacrifice some details/settings.

It may not depending on whether or not it has a UEFI BIOS, Make sure you update your BIOS before inserting the new card, but you may be limited to something Pre 700 series from nvidia.

Some H61 chipset boards have trouble with 700 and 1000 series cards , you actually won't know till you try it.

Motherboard BIOS version 0099 is when the BIOS was changed from legacy to EFI and could not be reverted back to an older version.
