One thing that really feels like it paid off for me, was going to the MSI website and being sure I was buying compatible and tested RAM and SSD. I wanted no conflicts in critical areas, and so far so good on my end.

I will say, I've had some small bugs arise, so be sure to update the bios to the most current on the MSI board, once your built. I have the X370 Pro Carbon and the recent update fixed some issues I was having. Obviously reading and youtube helped me a lot as well. Paul's Hardware youtube channel had a couple vids I found really helpful for "things to do" in the pre build and post build stage.

if it was me, i would go for coolermaster V550. it's 80 plus gold certified.
next is, gtx 1070 ti is about to come. wait a little bit (if u can), cause there might be fall in prices of gtx 1060s and 1070s.
have you checked amd's? their new cpus and vga cards are really something!

No old gen I5 anymore! Get coffee lake!

love those ITX builds.
Your build is compatible, and will work as is.

I have some suggestions:

1. Coolermaster hyper212 is popular, but not the best budget cooler out there.
It is also a bit hard to mount.
I suggest the scythe kotetsu for the same price.

It competes well with the higher priced noctua NH-U12s.
Here is a review:

2. 550w is good for up to a GTX1080.
Look at this Seasonic focus 550w for $60 after rebate:
rated 9.8/10 by jonnyguru.

3. You could defer on the hard drive until you actually need the space.
and... WD is likely to be more reliable.
Here is an article on the wd rainbow:
https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Understanding-the-WD-Rainbow-674/

4. For $25 more, you can buy a pcie m.2 Samsung 960 evo.
Sequential performance is 4x faster.

5. Two tips:

Buy yourself a #2 magnetic tip Philips head screwdriver for assembly.
While waiting for parts, download and read, cover to cover the case and motherboard manuals.

A mini itx build is naturally a lot tighter than a matx/atx build, so think twice/three times about what order you need to fit things, be very prepared to go backwards a few steps, if you've gotten that bit wrong. Loose fit items first to see how they end up.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from 96bmb96 : "mITX build tips"

It's the NZXT Manta :) not the NZIX Manta. Ram, you should go for DDR4-3200Mhz at least in a kit form. If you can find it, the SK Hynix SL308 is a good option for a tad cheaper than the Samsung. The Cryorig H7 would be a better option for the cooling side of things. Your build looks alright overall though I'm not sure you should be going for the manta since it's the same size and volume as a Coolermaster N200. The Manta is a good case if you can populate it with custom watercooling parts and not just air cooling.

Mind if I ask where you're located and what the budget for your case is?

Hi, i got a pretty good deal on the Manta. Ill save about $40 on it.
I dont really have a set budget on my case, but im trying to keep the whole build below $1300. I think the manta is a really good looking case.

Btw i live in Sweden.
