GTX 1060 Gigabyte (3gb) hot when idling

As described in the title, my GPU runs hot when idling, its about 60 centigrades when idling and up to 78 centrigrades on load. I have download MSI afterburner after someone suggested me to create my own fan curve, I've done just that, but it still worries me. I don't know what causes the high temps, my airflow is good, ambient temps are around 20 centigrades. One last thing, today I tried moving my GPU one slot closer to the CPU, but I cancelled because I didnt want to break my GPU(or potentially damage it)

Here a pic of my pc's

Any tips are welcome and
Thanks in advance!

I thought I saw 54degC load however the temperature was a DELTA so they subtract the room temperature!!
https://www.bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/graphics/gigabyte-gtx-1060-windforce-oc-3gb/10/

So at 20degC ambient room temperature the actual 54degC Delta value would have been 74degC on the GPU.

(DELTA is used often as room temperatures vary but it does cause confusion if you don't notice that's how it was recorded)

Will it fit though?

As its almost 12pm here, im going to try this tomorrow and keep you updated :)

Hey,
Then idle temp is likely high because the fans don't usually turn on in most modern cards until roughly 60degC. (just look at it with the side of the case off)

And 78degC is fine under load. You might gain a SMALL amount of performance if you could cool slightly better but not much, if any (the way they turbo is complicated)

Ambient room temp affects things, case cooling etc, (and the card of course. probably a SINGLE FAN card?)

again, it's not a big deal likely. I'd just leave it.

Thats why im weirded out, its a 2-fan card, I have good airflow(3 case fans), good cablemanegemen. It just worries me a little when it gets over 75c

Don't be "weirded out" as there's nothing to worry about.

Many GTX1000 cards get into the 80+ degC range (though they start to throttle at roughly 83degC or so).

Every case is different, the CPU heat produced is different, the ambient room temperature is different and so on.

Even the default OVERCLOCK is different depending on the model, heck the silicon lottery for each GPU is different so some may run slightly cooler (by a very small amount) so there's a large degree of VARIATION between setups.

*Long story short is you haven't hit the throttle point, nor is there any worry about the card prematurely wearing out.

Ahh okay, thats nice to know. I moved my GPU to the closest slot to the CPU, its cooled the temp by about 3-4c. Thats for letting me know about this
