using an internal USB hub to expand number of internal USB headers

USB hubs may only allow one device to transfer data at full-speed at a time, but they do allow all ports to charge devices simultaneously. As most people will instead use USB 3.0 where high performance is needed, you aren't likely to notice any performance problems on a USB 2.0 hub.

Note that some devices are infamous for not working when plugged into a hub, like the external Apple SuperDrive

This will be a power supply and cooler for control of fans and temps.
And 4 front USB ports, which are not often used

This is an internal one to three hub.
thanks for your response.

My main concern was that the software monitoring the cooler and different software monitoring the PSU would get confused when they are connected to one motherboard port that has been split in 3.
