Corsair ML120 Fan Speed Problems

Hello, I'm kind of new this forum stuff. Anyway, I purchased a two pack of non-led ML120 off Amazon.com, that being used to cool down the following: Cooler Master HAF 912, Asus P8Z77-v LK, i7 3770k(stock), Hyper 212 evo with Arctic Silver 5 installed, GTX 960 4gb( will be swapped for gtx 1060 or upcoming gtx 1070 ti), G.Skill sniper ddr3 sniper 2133mhz memory, Seasonic S12ii 520 watts( in mid-2012, Seasonic was a lovely top-tier psu brand versus today), standard 1tb hard drive, and Asus optical drive.According to the bios and HWmonitor, the Corsair ML120 fan speed is set at 60 percent(1440 rpm) while its idle or boot, which is quite noisy. I don't have a fan controller installed on in my case, but is there a way to lower the fan speed without installing the notorious ram-heavy Asus's AI Suite II software? Personally I think the Asus P8z77-V LK was designed for voltage based fan versus PWM( Pulse Width Modulation) type fans.

I've checked your mobo support but ai suite isn't listed and it's a question of whether it would even support it. If you go into bios, then into advanced view/options within it, it might let you access fan settings. https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/P8Z77-V/6.html suggests you might be able to enable qfan profile for each of the fans and then select one of the pre-loaded settings for it. Standard is shown but not sure what the options are.
For fine control, looks like ai suite is your choice, at least it's good some version of it is supported according to that link.

I restarted my computer to make q-fan is turn on, check what fans profile is offered in Asus motherboard(Standard, Silent, Turbo, User and etc.) and make sure those Corsair ML120 fans are set to silent. But Corsair should release a compatibility list on their site so we all know what motherboards don't have a issue with running those at optimal speed without OEM software.

Eh to be fair fan profiles and multiple fan headers have only truly become popular in the last few years. Prior to that, I couldn't see any mobo manufacturers tout them as features in any way. If you built a system nowadays, most mid to high range boards would have a fan profile included in the bios, but older boards are unlikely to have them.

You were right, there isn't other way to control the fan speed without ram-heavy AI Suite II's fan xpert software. I'd like to send my thanks for giving me the only way to solve this problem to reduce the noise( Well the Z77 side of thing, the min fan speed in Fan xpert software is 40 percent) .
