i'm not pro in these matters and i'm about to order this SSD online. i just want to know does my Motherboard support this ?
mainboard : x58a-ud3r (rev 2.0)
need immediate answer because i have little time to decide

The X58 chipset itself does not offer SATA3, and your motherboard instead uses a Marvell chip to provide SATA3. Usually those secondary controllers don't quite offer the full performance possible.

So the 850 Pro's performance might be held back a little by the motherboard. If you can save some money with a mainstream SSD, like the 850 Evo, Crucial MX300 etc. then that would be a good idea.

thanks for your answer but the price difference between Evo and Pro isnt much. if i can have Pro on my mainboard, i will buy that one. maybe in the future i wanted to change mainboard too
