Fps keeps dropping, computer freezing and crashing randomly

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but my Computer has been crashing randomly for about 6 months now. Sometimes it happens 5 times a day and sometimes once in 2 weeks. Everything is working fine with like 150+ fps then suddenly fps drops to 1-25 and screen starts stuttering, after 1-10s of that it usually gets stuck and needs a hard restart.
I've had this Computer for 4 years. Could it be that my PSU isn't good enough? And i've updated my drivers.

Here are my specs:
GeForce GTX 760
INTEL Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz
ASROCK Z87 Extreme3
8GB RAM
XFX 450W PRO Core Edition V2 Full Wired 80+ BRONZE

Hey mctana,

Do you have an overclock or an undervolt running in your system? If yes shut them both of or rather return your bios to standard settings.
Have you tried using another HDD/SSD? Your's might be failing.
Also swap out the RAM-Stick(s) in your system. Try using another DIMM-Slot or, if you have 2 sticks in your system, try running it off of either one solely.
I would also check the CPU Socket for dirt/dust or bent socket pins.
If it helped, run a stress test on all your components, recomended Prime95.

Many of my friends have only 8GB of RAM and it seems to work fine for them. Could it be that my RAM is worse than theirs? Or does this matter?
