For the past few weeks my laptop screen has been going black when gaming, but only for a few seconds. However, here lately as soon as I launch something GPU intensive; the screen goes black and won't come back on until the GPU intensive program (Furmark) has been closed. Sounds like a GPU going bad or a bad connection right? Well the weird part is that I can run a secondary monitor fine and have no issues. To summarize, my laptop screen will go black during a GPU intensive program, audio still works and you can still do other things, but my secondary monitor works fine while rendering the same images. The screen will not go black while doing normal processes. I have tried updating drivers from AMD and Dell and also running GPU and CPU stress tests with no issue. CPU intensive programs cause no problems for my screen. The programs do not crash, and I am not overheating. Any help is appreciated greatly.

I have a 2014 Alienware 17 with the following specs.
Processor: Intel Core i7-4700MQ @2.40GHZ
RAM: 16gb
Windows 10 64 bit
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 M290X with 4GB GDDR5
