Hey!

I am slightly new to overclocking. I know how to do it but i am living in fear of blowing my psu and/or system if i push past 4.4ghz lol

System specs

Cpu: Fx 8350 @ 4.4ghz 46c at load
ram : 12gb crucial ddr3 1333mhz
Gpu: sapphire rx 460 2gb nitro+
Motherboard: asus formula v crosshair z
Psu: corsair cx500w
Hd: 2 1tb 7200rpm wd blue
Cooling: huge push pull fan , not at pc and cant remember model/brand

Notes

1. After 4.4ghz i started recieving overclock failed messages. I assumed this is because i didnt change voltage. If im wrong about that please let me know.

2. Im well aware a 2gb rx460 sucks, believe me i know. I use it after all lol upgrading to a gtx 1060 6gb soon. Also let me know if its a bad idea, but i'm sure it wont bottleneck with a 8350. Will say though, i got it for £70 on sale at the time.

3. By all means recomend a sub £100 psu thats ideal for overclocking.

thanks for any replies in advance:)

Solution
If your CX500 is very old, don't do any more OCing...
Yes, too low voltage is the reason.
get this psu, one of the best quality brand, will last long:
