I have tried everything. When I plug the ethernet into my laptop, it connects just fine. When i connect it to my desktop, it gives me that error when I run a diagnoses.
I have disabled IPv6.
I did the command prompt where I type the netsh stuff.
I have disabled, reenabled.
I uninstalled and installed.
I reset router/modem.
This all started because I reinstalled windows 10 home.
It was working just fine before.

I would download the latest driver from the MSI website with the slow Wi-Fi. The driver on the disc would be outdated.

Nice troubleshooting on your end:D

The most obvious omission is a call to your ISP.

https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120311154418AAab5mk is an old answer of mine. It's old so ignore the ipv6 and replace it with 4.

The wifi module works on my desktop. But wifi is slow compared to ethernet that's why I just want this ethernet problem fixed. I know it's not the router/modem. I know it's not the Ethernet cord. It has something to do with my desktop. BUT IDK WHAT

Interesting user name. Does that also mean the oven's on?

CALL YOUR ISP:D Like I said in my post over at Y!A they will probably ask you to remove the router from the picture.

I looked in the device manager and found PCI Simple Communications Controller has a yellow exclamation mark next to it. Is that the problem? I have a MSI motherboard with a disc. I am assuming it has all the drivers I need? Thing is my desktop doesn't have a disc drive, so should I transfer all disc files to a usb?
