My specs are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @3.00GHz
6GB RAM
Gigabyte GT 1030 OC 2G
Windows 7 64Bit
Can I run GTA V at medium settings?

Solution
according to youtube videos, i can run it on high textures with medium settings with aa turned off. but as far as i know, to run it at high settings, the least needed GPU is a gtx 970. so are the videos fake?

Some might be fake, but you can look at many and get a general picture. I'm not sure why you think it would be fake though. Med settings overall on a 1030, high settings overall might need a 960 or a 970. This might be a game with a large increase in GPU load between med and high. And because the 1030 is so basic I'm not surprised. I'm actually surprised it can run with med settings. Though probably because it's at 720? 1030 running at 1080 resolution is probably low settings if it runs at all.

Since every combination is different and every GPU/CPU is different (Silicon Lottery) it's rather unnecessary to question the authenticity of the video. Everyone will have slightly different results. If you want to know your results with your equipment, the best thing to do is try and learn.

At least Steam lets you refund it if you play for an hour and find it unplayable. This gives you time to try many different settings configurations until you know if you can enjoy it or not.

No they aren't, I used to run GTA 5 with the highest settings except texture and shadows with a gtx 460 and a amd a8-3870k, I also ran it with a 280.

GPU is not the problem here GT 1030 handles it pretty great but that CPU would bottleneck the GPU a lot so you can run the game but not very well i would recommend you to get a i3-6100 or a Pentium G4560 for that GPU.

i have to add this GT 1030 does run GTA 5 at 1080p at high settings with 60 fps easily and it doesn't even use %100 of the GPU %93 or so because i tested myself. you guys are underestimating GT 1030 i mean yes card is not for gaming but it's not bad it's an equal of GTX 750 and maybe GTX 750ti which are both great budget gaming cards. in this case this guy's problem is his CPU. lowest settings or using lowspecgamers tutorials are far from necessary GT 1030 can handle GTA V very good.

Why are we talking in a solved ~2mo thread?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gt-1030-2gb,5110-4.html

Can't even hit 60FPS at LOW settings in BF1. I know GTA5 is a different game, but the card isn't meant for serious gaming. It's a bit behind even the 750TI, so look up that card on GTA5 and see what it does. Toms didn't test the 750TI or 1030 with GTA5, so I went to another site.

With a mix of high/very high settings the 750TI gets...34FPS. The slower 1030 would get even less. The 1030 ISN'T going to let you turn on details at 1080 and hit 60FPS. Not from anything I've seen. Even the slightly faster 750TI isn't going to do that. Maybe if you turn everything off and play at a lower res, but who wants to do that?
