Thats incorrect, the type of RAM doesnt have anything to do with the type of VRAM from a GPU. So putting a GPU with DDR5 VRAM WILL work with no problems on a system using DDR3 RAM.

Secondly, the GTX 1050 and the 1050 "ti" are completely different graphics cards, which is why you will see the 1050 "ti" versions cost much more expensive. The "ti" version of the grpahics card has MUCH better performance than the regular 1050 and you will see much more FPS in video games.

Hope this helps, good luck

if your friend is an expert then why you are asking here in the forum ask him:)
The GTX 10xx series needs the UEFI bios supported motherboard to work properly and your board is uefi enabled so it work and when it comes to ddr3 ram vs ddr5 GPU ram then i think if you listen to your friend you should wait for DDR5 ram which matches with the DDR5 GPU ram

^ The section about the UEFI is correct, but the part about waiting for DDR5 RAM is a joke and should be taken as one :p
