I'm wondering if I can put a AMD A10 7890k in it.
I don't know much about pcs so am asking.
So help please :)

Solution
I can't find any HP Pavilion 550-221 with an AMD A8 8650. I have found HP Pavilion with A8 8650, but it's model 550-130ns (in Spanish: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04888656/), the mobo is named "Orchid3" and the CPU compatibility list is limited to:
AMD A10 8850 (Godavari) 3,9 GHz 4 cores, 95 W, Radeon R7
AMD A10 8750 (Godavari) 3,6 GHz 4 cores, 65 W (cTDP - 45 W), Radeon R7
AMD A8-8650 (Godavari) 3,2 GHz 4 cores, 65 W (cTDP - 45 W), Radeon R7
AMD A6-8550 (Godavari) 3,7 GHz 2 cores, 65 W (cTDP - 45 W), Radeon R5
AMD A10-7800 (Kaveri) 3,5 GHz 4 cores, 65 W (cTDP - 45 W), Radeon R7
AMD A8-7600 (Kaveri) 3,1 GHz 4 cores, 65 W (cTDP - 45 W), Radeon R7
AMD A4-7300 (Kaveri) 3,8 GHz 2 cores, 65 W (cTDP - 45 W), Radeon HD 8470D
As far as i can tell from the HP website about your product (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-500-200-desktop-pc-series/5399647/model/6947829/product-info), it uses Intel CPUs (specifically, the Intel Core i7 4770: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-500-200-desktop-pc-series/5399647/model/6947829/document/c04217531). So not only there's no way to put into it an AMD CPU, but also it would make little sense, as the AMD A10 would be a downgrade. The CPU you have is very good, even now, why do you say that your PC needs a new CPU? For what uses do you find it lacking?
