New RAM for Ryzen 5 1600

Hi all, my motherboard recently died so I thought now would be a good time to upgrade some of my parts. I've decided on the ryzen 5 1600 due to help with a previous post and I'm going to go with the Asus prime B350 motherboard. Was wondering what ram I should go for? I know I need ddr4 and was thinking just going for 8gb because money is pretty tight, I'm not too good with the technical side of things so I'm not really understanding all of the videos and things I'm watching on the ram.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Gskill has Ryzen approved RAM the Fortis and Flare X models. Use the QVL (qualified list) provided by your motherboard manufacturer. That gives you a list of part numbers that the motherboard manufacturer has tested for correct operation with that specific motherboard model.

With the way most gamers play these days, 8GB is getting tight. Having discord, youtube, etc open while playing uses a lot of RAM. A matched set of two 8GB RAM would be my recommendation. You can save some money by getting 2400 RAM rather than trying to push 3000 or more.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have 2 monitors and most of the time have Spotify/crome up on the other one whilst playing games, would 2400 be enough? As I said I don't really know what it means haha. Also, any chance you could link/recommend specific memory to buy?

2400 is the speed of the RAM -- 2400Mhz. There is a lot better compatibility and stability at more modest RAM frequency. MANY posts on this board are trying to run 3000Mhz or 3200Mhz because there is some performance improvement. I prefer the stability and lower cost of the slower RAM.
