Hello brilliant fellows,

I am in need of your input. I have my OS on a slower SSD, but my files are on a faster SSD. Am I accessing and working with the files as fast as I could be? Would having the OS and files on the same, faster, SSD increase my speed? Or is having the files I work on the faster SSD, enough?

For reference, I work in Photoshop and have a lot of huge image files.

Thank you for the reply and No. The programs are on the slower SSD. As of now, only the files themselves are on the newer-faster drive.

Well...as the application is running, it is mostly in RAM. And then writes to the drive. In your case, the faster drive.

But...which drives are these? How much faster is "faster"?

Intel SSD 600p Series 256 GB, M.2 (OS and programs) + SAMSUNG 840 EVO 2.5" 1TB (most files)

VS

Samsung 960 PRO 1tb Internal SSD ‑ M.2 (work files)

I don't know the speeds exactly, but I was told by my brother, who gave it to me, that the 960 Pro was faster than what I already have.
