after replacing my old cpu with an i5 my pc wont boot. its shows bootmgr is missing. so i tried to install win 7 again but it wont allow me to format or install the os. it shows "Windows could not format a partition on disk 0". I changed to old cpu and i was able to install win7. Anybody know whats causing this? Sorry for my bad english.Thanks

When you're changing hardware components like the cpu, I find it's best to reinstall for the sake of issues like the one you're experiencing. First, before you install the new cpu, make sure you have the latest bios on your motherboard. Then once you're trying to boot with the new cpu, do this:

and make sure to fix the boot record before trying to install anything or get it to recognize the current installation.

It could be but if it was, I'd expect it'd fail to boot completely. As it stands, it actually gets to the point of looking for the master boot record, meaning it's already passed the cpu check, so I'd assume that at the very least it's live and kicking. That's not to say there may not be problems with it later on, but in this case, I think it's just a matter of your windows install freaking out at hardware change.

It you have 2 or more hard disks and the bios resets which is the boot disk you are going to have problems
If the boot manager partition is on a different hard disk from the windows c: partition you are likely to have problems
Changing motherboards ( unless similar chipsets) requires re installing windows
Changing cpu should not require re installing windows
But it does require re setting the cmos ram
Lattest generation intel cpu ( 7th generation) does not like windows 7 and both intel and Microsoft refuse to provide necessary device drivers for inregrated graphics

i did like you said but its showing the same error. i then re install os with old cpu, worked fine then i replaced old cpu with i5, this time it got past boot screen and when it reach desktop this Preparing Automatic Repair shows up. after restarting i get stuck everytime on blank screen after splash screen.
Yeah ok that means windows itself needs a repair. If you're at least able to get past the boot record, try this. Get a windows install cd/usb again, go to command prompt and run scannow:

Run it until it reports no issues. Then try booting.

i installed the processor again to try the fix but after logo screen it shows pc needs repair something like that. tried to reinstall os again but same problem saying unable to create partition. i switched back to old processor and reinstall windows again
Yeah which is why you'd be booting off the install disc to repair. So to not get it to the point after logo screen where it says it needs repair because at that point in boot it's too late, it clearly isn't able to do it by itself.
You can reinstall with the old processor but if the process of switching cpus is what's corrupting it somehow, you're going to have to try to execute windows repair from the install cd, while the new cpu is mounted anyway.

it didn't help. tried to repair several times. it checked for repairs and restated and i keep getting errors like, blue screen saying bad header pool, hardware and software problems, windows boot manager. some times i get stuck in gigabyte logo screen. I then tried installing windows using gpt partition, during between installation another error pops up saying windows could not update registry data, another time it says required files missing. tried again this time it completed installing and after restart another error shows up saying you pc run into problems. i changed back to my old cpu and reinstalled os.

Can you install the new cpu, then put in install cd, and wipe the drive completely, every partition, and then merge all the partitions so that only one is present, format it ntfs, and then fresh install?
Or are you just not able to boot into the install cd at all when you do that?

installing the new cpu always corrupt existing windows. so when trying reinstall i get this errors like "Windows could not format a partition on disk 0, unable to creation partition " . I then convert mbr to gpt partition which worked no any errors but during between install i get this error "windows could not update registry data".Tried again installing went fine but after restart it cmes with "your pc ran inot problem" error. I changed back to old cpu and reinstalled os.
It seems like you need to actually reformat your partition before you ever introduce the new cpu, so that it's seeing just the blank drive and you don't have to convert or format anything.
Try making a live ubuntu usb (linux that only loads while usb is plugged in. Nothing gets installed and it's gone once you reboot and remove the usb). Then from it reformat your drive into a single partition that's ntfs formatted. Then install the new cpu and try fresh install of windows on a totally blank drive. Make sure that in linux you merge all partitions into one before formatting.
