So Ive been slowly gathering the parts for my first build, I have the nzxt s340, arriving tomorrow is the intel core i7 7700k and for the mobo ive chosen MSI Intel Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON 7th/6th Gen USB2 Motherboard.

Since i dont have the funds to just buy everything outright can I put the PC together piece by piece and what is the bare minimum I need to get it running? I dont know an awful lot about it so im guessing i just need the PSU, Case, CPU, CPU cooler, MOBO and the RAM?

Please correct me if im wrong.

Thanks.

Bad idea -> some shops have easy return policy within a month or so. Buy them as a whole build is much better and can tell which part may be a problem. Furthermore, build a pc within your budget, doesn't have to be I7, not to say I7-8700k just came out... RAM, HDD, cooler and PSU will be the next you are going to need.

Is it often problematic when building a pc or can I take the risk as Im slowly saving for a mortgage at the same time I cant see that kind of money leaving my bank at the moment ?

Thanks.
