Hello!
I recently upgraded my old 5 Mbps internet with Bell to 100 Mbps Bell Fibe. On LAN connection, I'm getting 96 Mbps but on Wifi I'm getting 34 Mbps. Is this sort of drop off with Wifi to be expected? The technician who was setting everything up said it was, but it looks like way more of a drop than I expected.

The modem I'm using is the Bell Home Hub 2000. It has both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz connections running under the same network name.

If you need any other information, feel free to ask. Thanks!

*edit: I'm getting 34 Mbps on my laptop while sitting directly beside my router.

I'm getting those reduced speeds on WIFI while sitting directly beside my router though. Distance, construction material, and objects between the router and laptop shouldn't have any effect at this distance, right?

Actually, right next to the router is also not good. Maybe 5-10 feet away would be optimal.
But as noted above...interference from other networks in the area may impact.

Only 2 connections. Desktop with LAN and laptop with Wifi.
