Fitting a 2.5" SSD into a 3.5" slot

I didn't purchase a adapter for the 2.5" samsung ssd because I completely overlooked the fact that I would need an adapter to fit it into the 3.5" slot.

I've seen people say they use Velcro, but I don't have it, and some say they dangle it without moving the computer at all but I plan on delivering it to my brother at his dorm. None of the stores near me sell the adapter bracket.

Could I just tape it in position? And if so, where would be the best place to tape it, or would I just tape it there? Or is there another way to do it that'd be more reliable?

SSDs are light enough to simply use double-stick foam tape. Or to just screw them in with two screws from one side, in any 3.5" or 5.25" bay. Or even to be ziptied to a wire bundle.

You don't want to mount a HDD that way because if it can wiggle enough to impact a hard surface while spinning, the measured g-forces are surprisingly high. But with a SSD it doesn't matter.

If you have a recent case, I'd be surprised if there was not a dedicated 2.5" mount point for that drive.

So which case do you have?

Or, stop at a store and buy some sticky Velcro, or double sided tape.

My case is a rosewell, https://www.amazon.com/ROSEWILL-Computer-plastic-computer-FBM-01/dp/B005LIDU5S/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1508379925&sr=1-2&keywords=rosewill, cheap one but it only has a 3.5inch slot. I'll just go to the store tomorrow and grab some Velcro / double sided tape for it tomorrow, thank you guys for the help!
