My monitor is Samsung Syncmaster B2330H/B2330HF (Analog), 60 Hertz/Refresh Rate

My computer specs are currently

Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-4790T CPU @2.70 GHZ, 2701 Mhz, 4 Crore(s) Logical Processor (s)
Microsoft Windows 10, HP Manufacturer
64 bits, 8GB Ram
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4600, Total Graphics Memory: 2176MB, Dedicated Video Memory: 128MB, System Memory: 0MB, Shared System Memory: 2048 MB

I want to change GHZ to atleast to 3.5 to 4 atleast.
and upgrade my graphics to nividia 980 or Nvidia GTX 1080/Ti

My purpose is to play skyrim on high-ultra, with a lot of mods/ good enough HD enb.
and perhaps play with 4k textures?

How do I accomplish this task?

Ok hello, first of all Your processor is fine but you need a better Graphics Card like the 1050 TI instead of a 1080 Ti since its cheaper and still a good card... but if you are planning on upgrading you processor (which you don't) get a 3.0 or above ghz cpu and overclock it ;)

Your cpu automatically boosts to 3.9GHz when needed. The gpu is bit of a problem though as the fastest gpu you can put into that pc would be the gtx 1050 ti, a good gpu, but not something that'll run 4k textures on modded skyrim. To get a faster gpu you'd need a whole new pc.

Well my computer mostly runs on 2.7 GHZ, never seen it go above that.

I asked somebody on another forum, and they said that I can't replace the GPU because it's integrated :/
Also does a improved GPU make the PC faster?
Forget 4k, I'm fine with 2k.

You can't replace the igpu, but you can disable it and use another one. Yes the gtx 1050 ti will make your games and pc overall a lot faster but i'm a bit worried about the psu as it's only rated for 180w and likely wont be enough for the gpu.

How do you disable? Go to bios or something?
What's the difference between GTX 1050Ti and 1080Ti?

Yeah I'm changing my power supply for sure.

Thanks I'll check those parts out. I don't want to completely replace my CPU, just want to upgrade and improve it.

You already have the fastest cpu that motherboard supports.
The difference between a gtx 1050 ti and a 1080 ti is that the 1080 ti is around 160% faster than the 1050 ti but also costs 500% more
There is still the option to build a whole new system though.

You haven't answered me here. How do I disable?
How much does a 1080 Ti cost?

Somebody said that 300 watt psu isn't gonna be enough for the 1050ti. 450 watts minimum. And said I might hav a problem with the slim tower case.

As for the building a new system, any recommendations?

To disable the igpu you need to go to device manager, click on display adapters, right click on the hd 4600 and click disable.
The 300w psu is enough since your systems estimated power draw will be around 200w with the gtx 1050 ti in it.
The gtx 1080 ti costs about $750.

For the build: what's you budget?

Right now the plan is to wait out a bit, and buy the power supply and GPU on the sites you linked.
I'll install the GPU by disabling the intel HD graphics, and plug in the new GPU (via pci slot, graphic plugged on monitor method) , installing the drivers

If I'm satisfied with how the game runs on the mods, I won't need to build a PC
if I'm not, then I will have to build one myself.


I will then look for guides on how to build a gaming PC
Youtube guides, seem good.
Going to see which components and specs are suitable for what I want to see running.

After I buy the parts, I'm going to probably sell the desktop PC, and then go for a upgrade on the gpu with a 1080 Ti.
