Hi, so I don't really know much about computers but my current desktop has basically crapped itself and isn't working after 5+ years of use, so I am in the market for an up-to-date PC that will last a long time.

What I need it for: Gaming (to a high standard), video editing, and general business activities (I often have a lot of tabs open)
Budget: Around $1400 USD, purely for the PC as I already have two monitors to hook it up to.

Cyberpower are having a sale and this was the best PC that I could find.
Is this good and will it last? I am buying a pre-built because I would have a much higher piece of mind knowing it will work instead of worrying about if I break or forget something.

Solution
That's a pretty high price for what you're getting, and I would advise against a pre-built. I'm sure you've heard everyone saying you should build your own, so I'll save you from that whole spiel, but if you're even partially open to doing a custom build, I highly recommend it.

If you are going to go with a pre-built, I wouldn't go Cyberpower. I've never dealt with them personally, but I've seen sooooo many horror stories about their customer service, that I never intend to buy from them. If you're buying a pre-built for peace of mind, don't buy a Cyberpower. Here's a deal from a few weeks ago for a 1070 build that would last you much longer, for a better price. Though from what I've heard, Ibuypower isn't much better than Cyberpower...

I don't know if you've used slickdeals in the past, but it's a great place to watch for pre-built deals. In your price range, I'd shoot for an i7 with a 1070, an SSD, and 16 gigs of ram. If you decide to build your own, just let me know and I'll put together a parts list for you, and can help walk you through the build process when you get everything. And honestly, if peace of mind is important to you, if you go the build-your-own route, if you stick to vendors with good customer service, if anything goes wrong with the build, it should be very easy to get things replaced.

Solution
There are several issues going with a cheaper custom PC maker, they use cheaper parts especially with the power supply, and build quality is not always there. Systems arrive with things missing or unplugged, cables all over the place, etc... You are better of just getting quality parts yourself and putting it together. If you never built a computer, it's hard to find someone that does not 1-2-3 people that have to help them.

I would not go with that build - the garbage case and generic liquid cooler are not products I would use. You can definitely get much better for that budget if you build it yourself:

Honestly, I just ordered one from them. Ryzen 7 1800x, rx580 8g, nzxt source 340 elite case, 8g gskill 2400, asrock killer x370, etrg 600 ps, 256 nvme n.2, 1t wd, all for 1170. Priced put on pcpartpicker it was 1140 after rebates, so I'm essentially getting it all plus freebies and lights and stuff, for less than cost were I to build myself. Oh, also wraith max, and raidmax rgb case fans too.
