Help to restore old laptop

Hi All
I got this old laptop (Fujitzu Siemens B-Series) that i like to work if i dossent find out and no can help it will still be here in my home but would be nice see it run again as i tryed write before and got all only the emty box are thrown out : got the recovery disc's and always wondert why sell a new laptop whit only a xternal floppy 2.5" as far as i rember The HDD was on 8 GB so would be nice to it and buyed a new 120GB Coz 8GB is noting today it also have a sd card reader and a Iomega click drive so just wich i have it working again.
So hope some will tell how to take the blank HDD and use the recovery disc in a pc with dvd drive.

So if any no please tell.

That would be some trick to install a SATA disk in place of the IDE one. It can likely accept up to a 128GB disk but only a 44-pin ATA100 one.

It comes with a USB Floppy drive so can boot from any USB CD drive, which is exactly how the manual suggests to restore the recovery image to the IDE HDD.

It's IDE 2,5 HDD there are not room to build in a sata and it's been running with More ram for years just wanted to give it a bit more space and was to fast just pulled out the HDD copyed all to another computer and thort that i cut just put all from old disc into new and make it work i got a old extern dvd Plextor but as it is now i wont just accept it with out i gets the software and i had some other made it work when i got it from new so i was primaly to be able to use it coz it also have a touch screen so you can draw and write on the screen i got nwer laptop now and other PC and Mac so like i tryed explain i thort if i took the HDD to another working pc i cut use its dvd and the recovery disc and then put the HDD back and it would work and the IDE disk is 120 GB Coz always been a problem with the 8 GB but i dont wanna make more fail so ask for hel if any can tell and will

so i shut find new HDD 10GB or smaller but stupid of me to just drag the folders and all to another computer and then delete it to silly me
i got the books for it and also asked fujitzy siemens for help bbut they just say forget it its old

120Gb IDE should work, as the next lower limitation was 32GB and those came with bigger drives than that. What exactly happens when you try to boot from the recovery disc in the Plextor?

If for some reason you are booting from a floppy instead, then you'd obviously need USB 2.0 drivers for DOS to access the CD drive. I prefer Iomega's aspiehci.sys + guest.exe (which can also operate your Clik! drive in DOS).

Keep in mind all of the OSes that laptop would've come with except XP: 98, ME, 2k don't require activation so you don't need to use their special recovery disc to install those, just the standard iso disc. And you can copy the install files off those discs onto the HDD, even if you can't do that from the recovery disc. If you don't have a boot floppy you can make the HDD itself bootable by freshly formatting it Fat32, then making io,sys, msdos.sys and command.com the first three files you copy onto it before all the install files into a folder.

I.m not werry good in dos so if i take out tthr HDD Thats 1 screew
and put iw wired to a computer with dvd but if i maby copy paste whats on the cd would you be helpfull tell which files i need to make it run again then if that works then comes next issiu coz at start i wanted to boot it like you can on mac but the screen kept black but when i added a monitor i cut see screen and get into boot but then i was alll lost coz there was all kind of things to disable or anable and tryed to boot it with a usb pen with OS X so if i cant get help i get confused and don't no what to do and would be all to expencive to sent it to a shop to get it repaired but can only say you sound like you no what to do so hope you will continiu helping me xx
