Hi Friends,

I purchased gtx 1050ti mini and added it to my current config (core i3 2120 3.3 ghz, 8gb ddr3 ram 1333mhz, intel dh61ww mother board, corsair vs 450).

I installed msi after burner software to check the stats and i found that the GPU fan rpm is showing as 0. Is it something we need to worry about? i know that some cards will be designed like this - start spinning after a specific temp has reached. but as per msi afterburner stats, it is still showing a s 0 rpm even after gpu temp crossed 66 degree C.

is something wrong? should i return my card?

hi friends,

i opened the case and checked. when i switched on the cpu, it spinned for 30 secs and stopped. Then i tried to play a game by keeping the case open and it doesnt spin. so it spins only for few secs when the cpu is turned on. plz advice if there is an issue.

regarding bottleneck, even im not sure how to exactly verify it. but i can see little lag when i play pes 2018 @ medium settings @ 720p resolution. is there any other way to check it. also my board supports only pcie express 2.0 whereas this card needs 3.0. will there be any problm because of this?

also i noticed that my processor fan is not spinning at all

What's the precise model name of your graphics card? Several manufacturers have gtx 1050 ti mini models. You could try playing for a longer time and see, if gpu fan starts spinning, when GPU temperature goes past 70..75 C.

This is not good. CPU fan has to be spinning all the time. The fan may have died.
In this case, you'll have to get aftermarket cooler for your cpu.

Zotac AMP line of graphics cards have Zotac Freeze technology, that stops gpu fan until certain temperatures are reached.
But specs of your model doesn't list anything about having this technology.
So - it should not have it and gpu fan should be spinning all the time.

Try controlling your GPU fan with Zotac Firestorm software (downloadable from zotac support web site).

1. auto - by default it is set to 51%
2. manual - there is a slider option from 0 to 100%
3. advanced - this shows a graph of Temp in celcius vs fan %

plz let me know what i should do now

ok..i figured out how to do the settings.. under manual settings i moved the slider to 100% and i can hear the fan sound if i go close to the cabinet. Now the question is - is the issue fixed or there is a problem with my graphics card (should i return it?)

update - so it looks like zotac firestorm software holds full control of the fan. This software needs to autostart along with windows so that the zotac card fan starts running. Else it will not even move. I have set the fan speed manually to 100 and configured the firestorm app to autostart with windows..so now the fan starts and continues to run @ full speed (earlier it spins for few secs and stops).

also, as per the default settings which is AUTO - the fan will start to spin @ 65 percent speed when the temp reaches 70 deg celsius ( anything below 70 deg c the fan will not spin)

now, do you guys advise to keep the fan spinning always ( as soon as the pc starts ) @ full speed or go by the AUTO settings with which it will start spinning only when 70 deg celsius is reached?

update...

the processor fab was not spinning because some dust had clogged the blades..i removed it and you know what all my problems are solved now..since the CPU temp is always below 60 now, i am not getting any stuttering..so i can confirm tgat gtx 1050ti works well with i3 2120 processor and 8 gb ram for pes 2018 @720p..
