So I have this gateway dx 4860 new PC its upgraded and it came with 1 tb hard drive. So all the sudden I decided to upgrade it so I bought this seagate buraccuda 2tb HDD and I installed it on my PC everything is connected and the HDD seems to get heat when I turn on the PC but when I load up windows at my desktop it doesn't say anything I also went to disk management for trying to recognize a new device but it didn't show up I looked up videos on YouTube in the HDD just pop up there for them but its not like that for me so I figure out maybe its somehow something in the bios setting so I went there and looked for sata conf but I can't find it so if someone knows what's my problem I would love to know

Let's make sure we clearly understand your problem, OK?

As it stands now you're apparently able to boot to your 1 TB HDD that's serving as your current boot drive, right? No problems there, right?

Now you've purchased a 2 TB HDD but it's not clear what your intentions are re utilizing that HDD. Do you want it to serve as a SECONDARY drive in your system for storage, backups, or some other purposes?

Or do you want it to serve as the new boot drive - either fresh-installing the OS (whatever that OS is!) or cloning the contents of your 1 TB boot HDD to the new 2 TB HDD?

So clearly explain what's your intention and tell us how you've connected the 2 TB HDD in the meantime. Capiche?
