Hi everyone,

I've just installed payday2 on my PC and it runs really bad, fps drops below 30, it seems to me either the game became bad out of nowhere or it's something on my PC

I5-3570, 8 gb of ram R5 230 gpu (Yea gpu is really bad but i bought it cuz of low budget :()

Now i know the gpu isn't good but i've ran payday 2 on 640x480 on a 256mb gpu a few years ago in pretty decent fps now this PC can't even run the game on 1024 everything low.
Anyone know what the problem is?

probably because of the updates almost every month? after all, the game is updated regularly, and my previous GT 630 barely runs it on 20-25 fps on lowest setting @ 768p... [i can still play on that fps mark but it's really horrible imo, everything seems sluggish]

u really need to upgrade ur GPU :v

I've figured, but i've ran games which should be more heavy on the PC like BF3 just to test it and the fps was a lot more higher on better settings than on payday2

It has 2gb of memory, the memory is slow but it should be able to run payday2 but in my case it can't for some reason

try to check your GPU usage during gameplay, is it max out? if it is, i think that means it's the limit of your GPU, the game is pretty heavy now, considering how my GT 630 had a 1 GB VRAM and can barely runs it, it would means that the new features and graphical improvement probably increase the min. requirement too :)

the BF3 is heavy, but the Payday is an online games that has regular updates, that updates also gives u new features and improvement, therefore, making it more heavy and demanding

also, game engine might have their own roles here

Yea i guess i'll have to lower the settings and look for an upgrade asap, thanks for the replies. have a nice day

if it an online game. try using the newer firefox quantum and try the newest adobe beta flash. see if it speeds up or gets more stable. if it uses java/flash check that hardware use is on to use the gpu. also see if it needs any 3 party plugis in to run.

firefox quantum and adobe flash can affect normal installed games? Payday 2 are almost the same as BF imo, the difference though are payday had no story, and the game only offers PvE :)

it's an online game, but not the kind of online game u find on browser mate XD

It is an online game, just thought i ask here cuz i've seen people with way more better pc's than mine have problems running the game. The game does not need any mods, flash or something like that it's download and play, from what i've seen i should be able to run the game on low with atleast 60fps but i can't for some reason.

Don't think he knows what you are talking about. However the r5 230 is quite weak and payday has become quite a bit heavier to run since the launch. I can only reach low-med settings on my old gtx 650 at 1080p/60 compared to when I played on medium-high a couple of years ago. The game got harder to run but the min specs never got updated.

i think he knows what he's talking about, it's just he had the wrong impression when i said "online game" :)

I've figured that, when i got this PC i was just looking for an 2gb gpu not even looking at the other specs which is quite stupid, i'll upgrade the gpu since i guess it's the only bottleneck here, since i've read the i5 i have is still a really good CPU

i5 is still good for another 2-3 years, before it's starting to feel sluggish :) since the trends of 4 core is starting to shift, future application and such will start to utilize more core/threads imo :)
