Hi guys I'm in the market for a new monitor and was wondering if my pc could handle 1440p? I have a gtx 1060 6gb, i7 6700k 4.00ghz, 16gb ram.
I have read that I wont be able to run any games on high settings however I mostly play games such as Elder scrolls Online or WOW. Do you think It is worth me buying a 1440p monitor or sticking with 1080p?
Thanks

I have no idea where your hearing all this "1060 can't do 1440P" nonsense.

For 6 months I ran a GTX 1060 6GB WITH a 1440P display and it was perfectly fine. BF1 ran at 70FPS ultra settings at 1440P and so did Battlefront. In all the games I play I can run them at ultra to high settings and get 60+fps without a problem.

Sure in the newest of games, you'll want to go from ultra to high settings to achieve 60fps but that's not bad at all. You shouldn't be anywhere near the 30fps mark.

So in your opinion I could play games such as wow and eso at 1440p at a decent fps? I'm looking into the cheapest 1440p monitor I can, would a 60hz be enough? Also is there a 'sweet spot' for size of monitor at 1440p? thank you for your reply

27" is the sweet spot for 1440P. Yeah only go for 60hz, unless you plan to upgrade your GPU down the road.
