Hello,

I recently got a USB 2.0 device that is plug n play with standard windows drivers (the device is the m-audio mini keystation 32). The device works fine in any of my USB 2.0 ports. When plugged in to either of my 2 USB 3.0 ports in the front of my case, it's comes up in the device manager as an unknown device with error code 28. Other usb 2.0 devices work in these ports, as do USB 3.0 devices. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled my USB drivers, and I tried the same thing with my chipset drivers. No luck. I have an Asus H87-plus Mobo. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I have screenshots if they are needed. Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I have already tried downloading and installing this and it doesn't fix the problem. The behavior is quite odd. I have three different USB 2.0 cable I am trying: short medium and long. The short cable has a ferrite, although I don't know if RF noise is an issue. The short cable works in the front USB 3.0 ports. The medium cable (no ferrite) seems to work in one USB 2.0 port on the back but not on any other port. The long cable doesn't work in any port. I guess I should mention I have other things plugged in USB , one of which is an audio interface. Could this be a problem? Unplugging the audio interface doesn't seem to change anything. Is there a way to manually make windows use the correct drivers?
