I'm going to build a new pc, i will use it for gaming, I should buy a Ryzen 5 1600 or wait for the intel i5 8400 (what about the i5 8600k, i will not do overclock, is it good?) and also, is worth buy a 1060 instead of a 1050ti? What dou you recommend?

your welcome. It's a great time to be upgrading right now. So many good options. Although there are differences between Intel and AMD, both offer good value, great performance. One is better in gaming, the other better at multitasking. You won't be disappointed with either.

Have fun deciding :)

Ryzen is cheaper but Intel performs better. The price difference will be a lot less next year when you can buy a 8400 and a B360 mobo.
Between the 8400 and 8600K, well the 8600K is faster due to a higher clock speed but it is also more expensive.
For GPU, get the 1060 if you can afford it.

agree with Kasper, mostly. The 8400 and a b360 makes sense if you don't want OC. The problem being you have to wait for the CPU to be in stock, and next year for the B360! The 8400 is a really good gamer. Look here :https://www.anandtech.com/show/11859/the-anandtech-coffee-lake-review-8700k-and-8400-initial-numbers

If you want to get a Ryzen system now, and again referring to not OC'ing, then the 1600x would be a better choice out of the box along with a B350 mobo.
But....and there is a but.....if you are willing to try an OC, then i'd suggest the 1600 because it's an easy OC, and saves money (as it's bundled with a decent stock cooler!) You can put that extra few quid to the GTX1060 and be happy out gaming at 1080p @60hz, Ultra in most games, and a great gaming experience.

Right now though, as kasper has pointed out, the 8400, 8600k, 8700k are gaming champs. Out of the box they offer the best gaming performance, it's just that to have one of those chips right now means you have to get a more expensive Z370 mobo.

The 8400 is about 20% faster at gaming than the 1600, about 10% faster than the 1600x (all at stock speed). But you can OC the 1600 to get within the same 10% mark of the 8400.

From a cost point of view Ryzen makes sense. From the performance point of view Coffee Lake makes sense. Ryzen will better multitask than both the 8400 and 8600k, but the 8700k is pretty darn good at everything.

A lot to consider, I know. Good luck with your decision :)
