Ryzen 1700 worth it?

Is the ryzen 1700 still worth it as of today? I will be hardcore streaming and gaming. How much of a FPS drop will I see with this CPU?

Yes, if you stream heavily. Ryzen will drop much less to none FPS compared to normal Intel 4 cores. Or you can wait for the new Zen2, due Feb. See what they have to offer. Right now most game are not utilizing more than 4 cores. This may change soon. It all depends on what you think. If games can get better optimized, 1700 is worth the investment now if your budget allows.

650w is plenty

Another question btw. Is 3000 MHz for a ryzen cpu really to low? people say you need ATLEAST 3200 MHz.

What is your total budget including monitor? We may be able to put together a good list. For Finstar's list, the cooler may be needed if you will do crazy OCing, if mild OCing, stock is pretty enough. If you are tight on budget, Ryzen 1600 can replace 1700 due to not many games/softwares can utilize that 8 cores and Zen2 may have better 8 cores or more
