Intel $550 budget build

Solution
Yeah, can't really do much better. Only suggestion might be to take the Pentium G4560 instead of the i3. Then save up for a replacement i5 or i7 at a later date, or put it towards a GTX1060 6GB.

Ryzen 1400 is a decent chip now, but up from there is the 1600 or 1700 with more cores. The socket will be supported longer and should see new chips in the not too distant future. So I kind of lean towards it.

Hmm. Intel build has the better GPU so would be better at most gaming tasks.

AMD build has more CPU cores, so more CPU intensive games will play better. Also offers a little more multitasking capability.

I will see if there is anything better possible, but it is a fairly tight budget.

Better CPU than Intel i3, better gpu than gtx 1050ti, better PSU (never cheap on the PSU), space for ram upgrades.
Or G4560 + 240GB SSD:
