Hello guys.

I built a pc the other day with parts as follows:

Asus ROG STRIX z270h
i5 7600k with Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo
gtx 1070 EVGA SC
And 8gb of Corsair Vengeance LPX ram 3200mhz.

I have done a modest overclock of 4.5 ghz on my cpu and decided to stress and check temps.

Upon running stressing using prime95 and cpu-z at the same time my temps became quite worrying after a couple of minutes;

Core 0: 78
Core 1: 74
Core 2: 78
Core 3: 88

Core 3 has me worried because it fluctuated between 74-88 and as soon as i saw it was hitting 88 i stopped the tests as this does not seem safe at all. Do I need to decrease my overclock?

Thanks in advance.

That's high, but not damage your cpu high... I would check your thermal paste... You might not have a good contact there... I love the 212, but it is not the best cooler in the world... Though, you should not have 10 degrees more in a single cores, makes me think the paste is not there... :)
