Hey everyone.

I have a couple questions. I bought today the Nighthawk AC1900 Smart router to help improve the signal and speeds for the house.

I live in Canada and I am with Rogers Cable. I have the Nighthawk router contacted to my ISP modem via Ethernet cable. The problem I have is every time I try to connect to the net-gear via http://routerlogin.net to configure the setting I get a message saying:

" You are not connected to your Router’s WiFi network. To access routerlogin.net, your device must be connected to your Router’s WiFi network. Check your current connection and try again. "

So before the process I thought I would have to have the current WiFi setting turned off under 192.168.0.1 but after that message I thought I had enabled it again but I still get that message.

side note is the QoS setting worth having on once I get everything working ?

Solution
check under your network port the ip4 and ip6 settings make sure there not set to a fixed addy. look at the firmware for the router if it real old see if there a window updater for it.
your cable modem or modem from the isp conencts to the wan port (yellow) on the unit. your pc plugs into one of the ethernt ports. you have to turn off all devices and reboot. if you cant log into the router there a hard reset button on theunit to reset it back to default.

I have it hooked up as you said and I hard reset both before the post. I've been playing Xbox one on just the Nighthawk wifi for the past couple hours I just can't seem to get into the nighthawk settings

The router page under 1.1 does show up. I can even log in. I see the tabs on the left hand side but doesn't matter what tab I click on the ride hand side it says
You are not connected to your Router’s WiFi network. To access routerlogin.net, your device must be connected to your Router’s WiFi network. Check your current connection and try again.
