I was told by a friend who is really good with computers that 3gb of vram is not nearly enough and will make games like destiny 2 and pubg crash. He said to go with the more reliable but slower 1050 Ti. Can anyone here confirm or deny this. That you for taking the time to read my poll. (Btw I know pubg is poorly optimized which is why it isn't a really good example.) Also feel free to send me suggestions on how to make my part list better. I have a money cap of $575. I plan on making this a gaming pc (obviously) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zQzhCy

I have a 1050ti and I play PUBG, it never crashes.
My friend has a 1060 3gb and his never crashes either. I'd say go with the 1060.
I checked out your part list, and everything is compatible and looks like it should be a great budget build.

Thank you for the info. Do you know if I would crash frequently from the lack of vram though?

Nope, you can't crash when maxing out vram, you just get a ton of stuttering.

However, I've read up a lot on the 1060 3GB, and nvidia has done pretty well at optimizing the card so you could say it's designed to stay at max capacity all the time.

Let's face the facts. With your selected processor and overall budget you aren't going to be gaming at anything higher than 1080p with high settings so you won't have to worry about using more than 3GB of vRAM.
But as previously stated for $40 more you can get either the EVGA with 1.61GHz clock or the MSI Armor 1060 6GB which is absolutely worth the extra $40

You can actually get the 1060 6gb on a good mobo under $575, but it means getting only 1 stick of ram and a cheaper case.
