This is a 4 year old pc with a 1 year old GPU in it. It has had its ups and downs, but it's always managed to keep going. Now, however, it seems to have something new wrong with it.
What's Wrong:
Upon trying to start the computer one day it never made it to post. The case lights up, all the fans start running, and a single switching sound comes from the PSU, but after about 2 seconds of fans, everything shuts off for 5 seconds, then repeats. The speaker on the MoBo never makes a sound,
Things that are in the build:
PSU: Corsair HX750
CPU: Intel core i7-3770K
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070
RAM: 2x4GB Dell SNPP382HC
Things that were happening before this:
Task Manager saying I was running at high memory and CPU usage for several months prior.
Things I Have Done:
I removed the PSU and tried it on another computer, which it worked for. The computer I popped it into had a lower power requirement, so that may have something to do with it.
I have checked for a short in the case. There is nothing wrong with the case.
I have inspected the CPU. There are no bent pins or anything of that sort.
I have taken out all nonessential parts (GPU, storage) and tried booting. No dice.
What I Suspect:
I originally thought it was a PSU problem, but now it's looking like it's a MoBo thing.
UPDATE:
Resetting the CMOS seems to have done the trick! Thank you Alexoiu!
